With what once would have been considered dishes from distant lands, you’ll enjoy a culinary journey through Queensland’s immigration and food history. And, you can be assured the food is good. We only visit venues that we’ve tried before who have an excellent reputation, fresh seasonal produce, and consistently deliver exceptional food and service.

This evening experience commences at 4:30 pm at one of Brisbane’s hottest wine bars with delicious starters representative of Queensland’s early history paired with wines before treating your tastebuds to entrees of Asian-influenced delights.

It was when Chinese migrants initially entered Queensland as pastoral workers in the mid-1840’s that the history of Asian influence on our food culture began. However, because Queensland makes up 32% of Australia’s Japanese in-migration and is the most popular Australian destination, these entrees will be of Japanese origin.

The main affair will be full of flare with a cocktail class where you’ll also get to enjoy the fruits of your labours. During this course, you’ll feast on what many view as typically Modern Australian.

This course is inspired by foods that first assaulted our senses with flavours never experienced before when there was a large influx of European migrants at the end of the Second World War.

These specific dishes, as with all food and beverages on your experience will vary slightly depending on what is seasonally available, as well as to meet your specific tastes.

This experience will be lead by a local knowledgeable host who will not only guide you through the different venues, food and beverages you will enjoy, but will also share interesting local facts and stories with you.

Throughout the evening you will be driven around by private transportation and picked up and dropped off at your home or accommodation.
