Located at the foot of Mt. Ainslie in the suburb of Campbell, the Australian War Memorial houses and tells Australia’s involvement in conflict – from pre-federation through to modern conflicts including Iraq and Afghanistan.

With a number of different features including a Commemorative Area (housing the Pool of Reflection and the Eternal Flame), the Roll of Honour (containing the names of over 102,000 members of the Australian armed forces that have died during or as a result of service in war), the Hall of Memory and the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier, the Memorial takes the visitor through Australia’s war history both on the front line and on the home front with respect and dignity.

Make sure you set aside half a day to really allow time to immerse yourself in the different galleries and exhibits.
