The Adelaide Botanic Gardens are truly a calming oasis right on the edge of the concrete jungle. With the entrance located at the north-eastern corner of the CBD it’s super easy to get to whether you have your own transport or not, and is a great way to de-stress and breathe in some fresh air. Make sure you take a picture of the map as you walk through the entrance so you always know where you are because it is quite a large area and map brochures aren’t provided. Some of the key areas to check out are the Amazon Waterlily Pavilion, the main lake area, the Bicentennial Conservatory and the International Rose Garden. As well as these must-see areas, there’s also plenty of shaded grassy areas perfect for a relaxed picnic. While you're checking out the main lake, make sure to watch the water, you might even spot a turtle or two!
