There is a Secret Garden hiding along the harbour, a beautiful park that was created by one of Australia's most famous artists wives.
The garden was once owned by the Rail Corporation, however they abandoned it leaving it choked with weeds and junk. Wendy Whitely (who was married to Brett Whitely) took it upon herself after the death of Brett to beautify the land with the permission of the Rail Corporation. It's rumoured that this project cost Wendy millions, she treated the park as a painting and got to work covering the garden with colourful and beautiful plants.
It's free to access Wendy's Secret Garden, and would highly recommend taking your camera along with you to get some beautiful shots of the garden to share with friends.
How to get there: The park is an approximate 10 minute walk from North Sydney Railway Station, or a 5 min walk from Milsons Point Ferry Wharf. There is a limited amount of parking available in Lavendar Cresent and surrounding streets.
Toilets are located a short walk away in Quibaree Park. Dogs are permitted with restrictions. There is a small amount of seating and picnic tables available for use.
