Anyone that has been to far North Queensland in the warmer months understands how important it is to keep cool! Take a trip to the Mossman Gorge Centre and take a shuttle to the gorge.
The Mossman Gorge Centre has a cafe, art gallery and you can even take a guided dreamtime walk. It's at this centre where you will need to purchase a shuttle ticket to take you to the gorge.
There is a small fee for a return trip back to the centre from the gorge and it costs $8.50 for an adult. You can stay as long as you like within the daily opening hours and the shuttle runs every 15 mins.
Mossman Gorge is located within the Daintree Rainforest and it is a stunning short walk to the first swimming hole from the drop off point. Gorgeous rainforest to marvel at! And the water is crystal clear.
The water is really very cold so it may be a bit of a shock at first but it is very refreshing! Take care when swimming at the water holes as conditions can change quite suddenly.
Pack a picnic lunch or grab something from the centres restaurant and find a nice spot amongst the rainforest for a bite to eat.
The scenery is absolutely gorgeous so don't forget your camera!
