The state library is located right in the centre of the CBD. On top of being a haven for book lovers, the library also acts as a gallery for arts and other exhibitions.
The best feature of the library is the Domed Reading Room. The largest of its type in the world, the dome can hold 600 people. Each of these 600 seats is equipped with a power point, where you can work or read for the whole day without worrying about your laptop or phone running out of battery.
If you are bringing kids, the former courtyard is carpeted and roofed to great a comfortable interior space, equipped with a children corner where they will have plenty of toys and books to entertain themselves.
If you are not an indoor person, you can also relax on the front lawn or even play giant chess with strangers at the entrance (there is a chess reading room with normal chess inside the library if that’s what you prefer).
