Take a walk along the Fairylands Loop. Starting at North Ryde Train Station (easily accessible by bus or train), heading down through Julius Avenue until you walk parallel to Lane Cove River. Explore the 'Fairylands' which are a few old structures at the beginning of the walk (with sign posted information explaining the history of the area) and some nice views of the river along the way before you reach Lane Cove National Park and head back up towards the main road through Lane Cove Tourist Park (camping grounds). There are lots of places to stop and have a picnic and enjoy the day with friends or family. You may also come across some friendly bearded dragons and other small animals when you reach the National Park. There are also designated BBQ areas within the National Park where you can set up for the afternoon. Please note that there are some rocks and steps to go down closer to the National Park, so the trail is unsuitable for very small children or prams. Dogs are also not permitted on the track. Refreshments also available within the National Park.
