Along Sydney's north shore foreshore walk (from Mosman to cremorne point) is local's favourite watering hole; McCallum pool. It's a 25m saltwater pool running alongside the Harbour with amazing views of Sydney to swimmers.
McCallum pool is open to the everyone during daylight hours though kids under 5 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Entry to McCallum pool is free and the views from the side of the pool straight across to the Opera house and a good side view of the bridge make it a sydney treat on a hot day.
McCallum pool is filled with salt water straight from the ocean and is emptied out and scrubbed clean by the Council fortnightly so it doesn't get too messy.
The water in McCallum pool is heated only by the sun so only head down in winter if you're feeling brave or an extremely keen swimmers.
