If you are hoping to spend some quiet time in the mountains near Taipei city, this is the place to go. The temple is quiet and not filled with tourists, but usually local people. From the temple you can look out over the mountains and enjoy a wonderful view of the Taipei 101 and surrounding area. If you are hoping to experience some of Taiwan’s culture, you can experience it here by talking with and observing the locals. If you are visiting the temple in the evening, be sure to catch the sunset. The twilight seems to make the mountain golden. You can take city bus 530 directly to the temple; it is the terminal stop. If you are up to it, walking back down the mountain to WenShan may be something you find enjoyable. It is about a 30 minute walk down the mountain. The nearest metro stop is the Taipei Zoo Station.
