If you are up for a trek then the Minnehaha falls in Katoomba is one of the most stunning waterfalls in the region. The waterfall is not as widely known as some of the other popular waterfalls in the Blue Mountains however is certainly a place of beauty. I went on a day trip with friends to see the waterfall on a blazing hot summers day in December and it was so refreshing to sit close by and feel the spray on our faces. The vegetation is lush and green and there are only the sounds of the rushing water to be heard for miles around. The views are spectacular from the walking tracks ( by the way there are safety handrails if needed) and you are able to swim in the pool directly underneath the waterfall. We did end up having a swim here and the cool clear water was absolute paradise after our trek. The area is not hard to get too and you need to pass Yosemite Creek to access the location. There are multiple walking tracks which you may find by googling the location and also another two smaller waterfalls. One of my favourite swimming holes and getaway spots and treasured by the locals.
