Coolangatta's main beach, is one of it's widest. Recent sand work has increased the total amount of beach area to something that during low-tide resembles a small desert, but the waters are usually calm & always warm enough for a swim - just wear some heavy-duty thongs for the hot dash across the sand!

There are flagged areas during the warmer months courtesy of the nearby Coolangatta Surf Club, and the park features BBQ areas, seating, kids playgrounds, and depending on the weekend, markets - you might even be lucky enough to catch the circus while it is in town, which makes it's temporary home at the north-end of the beach.

Just across the road is Coolangatta's main town, with loads of cafes, pubs, shops & restaurants, with plenty of street parking.
