If you're looking for a wave, or even a snorkel, then Snapper Rocks is the place to be. Referred to by older locals as the 'Porpoise pools', the combination of Rock formations & a former contrete pool has left behind a natural pool, that in the right conditions, can be fun to swim & snorkel in. Be careful, however, as the rocks are extremely sharp & slippery at times.
Snapper is also home to one of Coolangatta's long breaking waves - best accessed by jumping off the rocks at the far corner.
Warning: it is not recommended to walk on or near these rocks unless you are an experienced swimmer & familiar with the area.
