Halfway up the Gold Coast, Burleigh heads beach is a popular spot amongst locals, as it only attracts a small amount of the tourists you might see at Broadbeach or Surfer's Paradise.
The beach is patrolled most times of the year (always swim between the flags), and can get a wave when the conditions are right. There's a nearby children's playground, BBQ facilities, and plenty of parking.
Once you're done with your swim (or bake?), Burleigh's main street is only a short walk away, with a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs & shops.
