On your way to some of the best bushwalks at Wentworth Falls, you’ll pass by Wentworth Falls Grocery Store (opposite Wentworth Falls station). This cute shop sells lollies the old fashioned way. Instead of wading through a packet of mixed sweets, you can order a whole bag full of your one and only favourite! They have all the classic treats available, and for just $1 it is worth stocking up. If your sweetheart has a sweet tooth why not buy a bunch of treats instead of a bunch of flowers?

If you loved the movie Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, you’ll love the Leura Lolly Shop. The store is a sweet tooth nirvana and packed full of nostalgic childhood favourites, imported goodies from across the globe, and rare finds. Great spot to find a special treat, or to purchase a unique gift for that person who is hard to buy for. The staff are not at all helpful, but you won’t complain once you score a choo choo bar.

If you are after an ice cream on one of those rare warm days in the Blue Mountains you’ll enjoy a take away Serendipity ice cream from the Leura Gourmet Café and Deli. Yes some of the other shops in Leura sell ice-cream, but none are as delicious as this.

Josophans Chocolate Shop in Leura is picture perfect. The store sells handmade chocolates, Turkish delight and other treats made right in the back of the store. Staff are absolutely dedicated to their craft and this is reflected in the exquisite store displays, the intricate design of each tasty treat, and of course the taste! You’ll pay around $2 for one tiny taste of chocolate but you’ll probably agree it is worth it. This is a gourmet experience which cannot be beaten and worth saving your pocket money for.

The Ginger Bread House (Waratah St, Katoomba) is a great little stop off if you have kids. The exterior of the shop is a 100 year old restored church, with a little gingerbread house, built in the interior. Very cute little shop and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the pages of a fairytale book. You can purchase a variety of delicious sweets, icecream, spiders and of course gingerbread. Unlike the other stop offs on this list – you can grab a table and dine in. Out the back in the church yard is a great little playground, the only one in Katoomba CBD. Kids will love visiting this place and parents will love the opportunity to sit down and have a coffee and sweets.

The Lolly Bug in Hartley Valley (Great Western Highway) is located 25 kms past Katoomba, on the way to Lithgow. The drive out to Hartley Valley, down the steep mountain descent is breathtakingly beautiful and worthwhile in itself. When you arrive in the store you’ll be delighted with the veritable cornucopia of delights on offer. This is definitely the best pick of all the stops on your tour. A great place to stop with the kids.
