There’s are dozens of parks on the Balmain Peninsula but this is one of the nicest.
For adults, grab a coffee from one of the many cafes on Darling St then head down to the point of the park to enjoy the view of the sparkling harbour while sitting under the shade of gorgeous old trees. There’s nice flat spots for a picnic.
Families can head back into the park a little more to make use of the picnic tables. There’s also a rotunda that can be booked if you’re really planning a big group and decent enclosed play equipment for kids.
The big selling point of the park is the view and the shade. Lots of big old trees and the sea breeze mean it’s always a comfortable temperature and make it a superb spot in summer.
