There’s so much to do at Centennial Park but a visit to the Duck Pond is a must do for those with little kids (or nature lovers!). Last time we went it must have been breeding time as there were little ducklings and cynets everywhere. My son was enthralled. People do tend to feed the birds although I am not sure whether its encouraged.
There’s a nice grove of trees next to the pond which makes a great spot for a picnic in summer. Bear in mind that spot can also become quite marshy when its been raining so probably best to check before sitting down!
There’s also a little kiosk across the road from the Pond which does surprisingly good burgers. I’d say the burgers are actually better than the ones you get in some of the more fancy pubs.
So bird watching for the family and then tasty burgers for lunch – a perfect Sunday outing.
