Wedged between the Yarra river and Abbotsford’s historic convent precinct, Collingwood Children’s farm is a small slice of bucolic tranquility in an unlikely setting. Located just minutes from the very centre of Melbourne, this strip of grassy meadows is home to a real working farm. The farm boasts resident cows, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, peacocks and more. It’s a wonderful place to spend the day with children young or old, who will delight in being able to roam in paddocks full of friendly goats, or learn about how to milk a cow and one of the farm’s regular organized displays. You can bring a picnic or try some of the delicious and healthy fare at the farm’s thriving café. In fact, it’s worth a visit for the coffee and cakes alone!
