Sometimes we go through the McDonalds drivethrough at Pease St Edge Hill. Then we park only a couple of minutes away at the West corner of Centenary Lakes, on Greenslopes Street. There are many birds, ducks, turtles and we've even see an Eel amongst the Water Lillies. It can be as easy as parking within a couple of metres of the ducks and just looking at the nice scenery. Sometimes we bring scooters and bikes and follow the concrete bikes paths over the bridge. There’s also a boardwalk for walking only. The playground was great when my children were younger. There are bench seats, sheltered areas and facilities. This is my favorite area of the Botanic Gardens. It's near the Chinese Garden. Sometimes there are lots of sandflies here, especially at dusk!
