Hip-hop culture and sneaker-heads collide in this amazing (gimmicky?) new Surry Hills opening. Butter is the love-child of ex-Rockpool and Thievery chefs, who’ve pulled together one of the hottest (literally) food concept stores Sydney has seen in a while.
These guys take their chicken seriously. No bones, soaked in heavenly buttermilk (which locks in all that moist, moist meat) then battered within an inch of its life. I had the fried chicken sandwich (only $16 with a side of slaw) and the crunch when you bite into it is audible. I’m happy to claim this joint as having the best fried chicken in Sydney – no word of a lie.
Couple that with a glass of Dom Perignon and fresh kicks, you’ll be feeling (and looking) like Biggie in no time.
