Ever want to know how to work out what a bottle of European wine is going to taste like?

Want to impress your friends at a dinner party?

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust runs short courses to help you get comfortable with wine. For a moderate level of education, such as understanding the key regions of France, Italy, Spain, Germany, as well as some new world wines, the Intermediate Level (Unit 2) is just what you need.

This is designed for enthusiasts and hobbiests who want to understand what lies behind the label.

If a bottle is from Burgundy, what grape does it come from? What can I expect a Rioja Gran Reserva to taste like?

Courses sometimes run in blocks of 3 days, or one night a week for 9 weeks – depending on the venue.

Wines, glassware and text books provided. There is an exam, and the certificate is globally recognised.

Grab some like minded friends, and sip, swirl, and spit your way to better confidence on a restaurant wine list.

Also run at Prince Wine Store, Melbourne.
