If you are looking for a very unique and unusual dining experience that is so typically “Melbourne”, the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant will definitely not disappoint! It is a fine dining venue operating aboard actual, moving vintage trams tracking around some of Melbourne’s most famous sights.

The restaurant has several sittings for lunch and dinner every day, and since it is such a popular tourist attraction, bookings far in advance are required. Trams can be boarded from their stop close to the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, and they run on the standard tram tracks through the CBD and several of the inner Suburbs, from Southbank, South Melbourne, and all the way to St Kilda, before reversing back.

The set-menu food, although partially prepared in advance and then finished in the onboard kitchen, was of very good quality. Unlimited drinks were included in the price of the ticket.
