I highly recommend that you take a quick trip to Oberon NSW and visit the heritage railway museum. A fascinating collection of memorabilia housed in an old tin shed. There are local relics, donated items and lots of old railway stuff that will excite any train enthusiast. A small souvenir shop is also available to purchase postcards and other small items of interest. The volunteers here are also long time locals with a wealth of knowledge on items in the museum as well as the local area itself.
After you have finished browsing the museum why not wander down the street where there are a variety of quaint craft shops, bakeries and antique and collectable stores. Lots of fresh clean air in this town and also parks for the kids to play in. I come here often with my family and the winter is my favourite season. The snowfalls are brilliant !
