The Lithgow Arms Factory Museum is a fascinating place to browse miltaria and technical items from another era. The museum which is located on the original Small Arms Factory site showcases a variety of historical items from around the Lithgow district as well as one of the finest displays of rifles you will find in the Southern Hemisphere. Many of the rifles were manufactured at the original factory while many others (including a diverse collection of handguns and pistols have been generously donated by members of the public. (Entry fee to the museum is very low with concessions for pensioners and card holders/children).

There is also a souvenir shop within the building where you can purchase all manner of interesting goods. No cafe unfortunately however there is a small sitting area with books magazines and biscuits for the ladies who do not want to accompany their husbands on the tour of the museum. In any case a wander down the street will assure you of a coffee or cold drink from any one of a number of quaint cafes. Also many great places to enjoy a meal or quiet beer afterwards. Highly recommended for all age groups.
