The bike path runs in either direct alongside the Redcliffe train line. So no need to go on the road.
When you get to Petrie station head south west to Sweeney reserve and follow the path along the pine river, into the beautiful Mungarra reserve.
Cross Youngs crossing and follow the bike path through the trees and up the side of the Daybro road.
Petrie old town sits at the top of the hill. It is a piece of history and has the feel of going back in time.
The old train station at the base of the other side of the hill is still standing and worth a look.
The historic shops are open in the weekends and they often have markets, full of crafts, antiques and second-hand books. Or grab a drink at the North Pine YMCA pub.
