Heronswood house and garden is on the Register of National Estate and can be found hidden in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula. Heronswood was built in the 1800s and is now part of the Diggers Garden and Environment Trust. You can become a member of the Diggers Club and have free access to these gardens as well as a few others in Australia. Its such a special place that I have now bought memerships for family and friends. The Restaurant show cases what's growing in the gardens, specialising in heirloom organic vegetables, which is a real treat for foodies! With gardens overlooking Port Phillip Bay, you could spend hours wandering around the gardens and nursery. Within the Cottage there is a gallery containing an audio visual room and a sculpture room. The best way to see and learn about Heronswood is to book a tour. The Diggers Club also run Workshops for avid gardener's. Heronswood never gets boring, its a very special place that experiences amazing change through the seasons. It's one place you will want to return to visit again and again.
