Health and fitness has become a personal priority for myself as I’m sure it has for many other Australians. Monash council has spearheaded a health and well-being campaign which saw parks and reserves fitted with basic, body weight equipment to help the community exercise. Wellington Reserve has a small circuit with equipment just like this. Given the time it takes to walk there for locals and the football oval conveniently located close by makes a walk/run cardio based warmup possible before moving into simple religions on the equipment. There are clear indications on the equipment of how many reps to push for but those who are eager can push themselves by increasing as the only weights on these are body weight. For families, this is attached to a playground so the whole family can enjoy some active time. Alongside council run programs, Monash council is making it easier for everyone to get in shape and live longer!
