The bay run is one of Sydney's favourite running tracks, at 7.2km, relatively flat and stunningly scenic it's easy to understand why. The bay run has dedicated walking paths added cycle paths the whole way round so it's great for walkers, runners and cyclists.

The bay run loops around iron cove, through drummoyne, rozelle, the bottom of leichardt and Birkenhead and doesn't stray from the water's edge.

If you're walking the loop there are a number of great little coffee shops on the water that you'll be tempted to stop at and some fun parks and play things along the way too.

Because the bay run is a big loop, you can park anywhere around the track and head off. Down near Leichardt oval is where we started and there was tons on all day parking on a Saturday morning so might be a good spot to start.

One of the fun things about the walk is seeing fellow lappers and then running into them again half way around, you bump into the same dogs and couples and there's a lovely almost neighbourly feel about the walk.

There are a couple of off-leash points around the bay run for your pup to run free and for the rest you can keep them on the leash and they'll happily sniff there way around!

Be sure to take a camera with you on the bay run as you'll see many stunning sydney sights. Click through the photos to see some of the sites.
