The Star Court Theatre is one of Lismore’s coolest venues. It was opened in 1921, so you can imagine the Gatsby-style building was probably the hottest place in Lismore nearly 100 years ago.
Today the theatre hosts a variety of films, live music acts, and theatre. You won’t see your average blockbuster here; the Star Court offers a diverse range of flicks that are thought provoking and glorious. They did a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening here a while back, and the atmosphere was amazing.
There is also a pretty cool bar on site. You can have a drink here while you wait for the doors to open for your show, and bask in the fact that people have been coming to this same venue for nearly a century. You won’t get that experience when you go to one of the multiplex cinemas!
The Star Court Theatre is located within the Star Court Arcade (with entrances off Molesworth Street and Carrington Street. If you are coming in at night time, use Molesworth Street as your entrance, as the other end of the arcade isn’t as well lit.
