Ray Park is a great family-orientated park. The place has recently been remade with new play equipment, a paved pathway, some nice benches/table and now outdoor gym equipment too! The park is pet-friendly and also has a short bush trail for those of you who like a bit more of a walk!
I’d suggest going during the morning or early afternoon, trying to avoid the middle of the day because when the sun gets too hot there is minimal shade at the park. It’s free to visit and parking is easy because its surrounded by suburban homes with no metered parking. You can even park on the main road if it gets really busy!
The only bad thing about the park is that there is a large grass area in the middle for casual play, but not marked areas for sport. And there isn’t anywhere you can buy food at the park unless you walk over to the corner shops (about a 5-10min walk).
