From Circular Quay you can get the Parramatta River Ferry, which will take you on a very scenic ~45 minute ride to Olympic Park. You will stop at Olympic Park Wharf and from here it is only a short walk along the riverside to Armory Wharf/Blaxland Riverside Park where you can eat at the riverside cafe and hire some bikes. Once you’ve hired bikes you can ride up past historic Newington Armory to Olympic Park to Olympic Park. Within the park there are many scenic sites if you don’t want to do any sporting activities such as archery. There are wetlands where you can see shorebirds up close from a bird hide, and the brick pit, which has an incredible vertigo-inducing elevated circular walk around it. There is the Armory Gallery at Newington Armory as well, which has various exhibitions on from local artists. The whole park is great for bird watching and photography and there is a Birdlife Australia discovery centre just near Newington Armory as well. After you’re finished you can cruise back up Parramatta River to Circular Quay.
